1. Shadow Oaks is located at 108 Gregg Avenue and Hwy. 1, Aiken, South Carolina 29801. Licensed as an Assisted Living Community by the State of South Carolina, it houses 56 residents and exceeds all the fire and safety requirements of such a community.
2. There are 28 private suites, 8 semi-private companion suites, 4 semi-private suites, and 2 deluxe companion suites. Each suite has its own private bathroom with a seated shower. We encourage residents to furnish their suites with their own familiar furnishings.
3. Each suite has 2 sprinkler heads, a smoke detector, and 2 emergency call cords, all centrally monitored 24 hours a day.
4. There is 1 main dining room with an adjacent private dining room; an ice cream parlor; kitchen and laundry room in each residential building for resident's use; 6 sunrooms and a patio off the main dining room; 3 living/activity areas, with fireplaces; a hair care salon, and a physical therapy room.
5. Normal services include: 3 meals daily; weekly housekeeping; laundry; 24 hour supervision and emergency assistance; monitored medication administration; planned activities such as weekly outings; exercise, crafts, bingo, sing-a-longs, religious services, entertainment, picnics, cookouts, and interaction times; and schedules transportation for medical appointments.
6. Special attention is paid to providing nutritious, balanced, and healthy meals for our residents. Special dietary needs can be accommodated, as per physician's orders.
7. Access to licensed nurses on duty 24 hours a day, plus rehabilitation services by licensed therapists.
8. Shadow Oaks policy is to be supportive of the family. As advocates for the elderly, we strongly believe that older persons are a vital part of the family and community. We will need for the resident's family or sponsor to continue to be actively involved in the daily life of the resident. Our residents will need support from their families and friends, as often as possible, but especially during the holiday seasons. For this reason, we strongly encourage the families and friends to join us in any activity or function we may be having at Shadow Oaks, especially during the holidays.
